Help Me Pick My New Glasses!

I'm blind as a bat. There I said it. (Side note, are bats the only 'blind' animal? Why not the phrase, 'I'm blind as one of the three blind mice' ...just some food for thought) Let me admit something to you, and I'm only doing this because I think we're close. Close enough that you swear you won't judge me for the photo I'm about to show you. Let's rip the bandaid off....

I. Meghan Rosette. Had transition lenses. THEREISAIDIT.

For those of you fortunate to miss the era where they were 'in' (also this really doesn't apply to the transition lenses of 2013, that stuff is actually legit) Transition lenses were glasses created by satan himself to make awkward and chubby 5th graders like me, even more self conscious about their appearance. All in all they were just plain B-A-D. Even worse than gauchos. And the unicorn sweater Lizzie McGuire wore on picture day. Yes. They were that bad.

I'll admit, the concept of transition lenses were great. Glasses that were clear when you're inside, that tint to sunglasses when you go outside. Sounds pretty convenient right? WRONG, OH SO VERY WRONG. The first issue. They never got fully light. And even worse than that? They never got fully dark. So I was left with this awkward in between tinge...and because I was "trendy" (weird/strange/'unique'/special/insane) I thought, hey, let's tint them pink. In all fairness the shade was actually called "Crystal Rose" so it sounded pretty classy to my 11 year old self. Oh so wrong on oh so many levels.

*My dearest Hannah I am so sorry I'm subjecting this photo to the internet, but it had to be done*
-Also can we discuss that this was me FRESHMAN YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL...I can't.
I can't even.

So that's my first glasses story...alas, come freshman year of high school I was cast in a play that required me to get contacts, so I've stuck with those ever sense, ditching the transition lenses along the way. My most recent pair of glasses I got about 3-4 years ago in my "hipster phase" (Yes I had way too many phases...it was a phase..) and while they were (and still are) really cute, they're actually mens glasses which don't even fit my head! Over the years I've managed to make them seriously crooked, so when Warby Parker contacted me asking if I wanted to get a new pair of glasses I was like "OH SWEET GLASSES GODS YES PLEASE"

...so this is how we got here today....BAH BAM

So help a sistah out in picking out my new glasses by commenting on my new video which glasses you like the best on me! I'm leaning towards the Cosby but I want to hear your opinions!

  1. To be honest, I think you should get more rectangular frames..These ones seem a bit big for your face.

  7. I like Tenley and Clyde, though it might've been a little too late to cast in my vote. :* And to oppose Karla, I think you should stick to your options – the round-framed ones. Rectangular frames fit better on round faces and you certainly don't have that. ;)

  8. Thanks for the post, and I don't if I'm the only one like this but I actually like that I have eye glasses. Because in my opinion I think that I look a lot better with glasses than without glasses.

  13. I hope you went with Bensen; it looks nice with your eyes, and has just the right frame to match the shape of your face. Which one did you pick, btw? I’d say doesn’t really matter what we think, as long you choose the one that will make you feel good about yourself. Besides, they all look wonderful anyway. Have a great day!

  14. These are all great options! I'm personally partial to the Clyde ones - they are very flattering. I've had a hard time picking glasses lately too. It seems like I can never get quite the right fit. I'll have to keep looking around though, I'm sure I'll find something soon! Thanks for sharing your experience. http://libertyvillevision.com/services.html

  15. Oh, the risks of following the trend! It may be a hit today, but you'll never know how long it will last. That’s why it’s much better to stick to the classics. For one thing, their designs are quite easy to match with different outfits. Anyway, I think the Benson is also my favorite! So, which of them did you end up choosing?

  16. Its so unfortunate that my husband left me after five years in marriage. thought he finally left the house in the third year of our marriage just because i was unable to conceive. i wonder what happened to Andrea Delacruz my husband that makes him leave the house. he is a God fearing person and very humble. i know that leaving me wasn't ordinary. we dated for seven months and i never notice such character in him before i married him. i cried and wept through my days and night because i really love Andrea Delacruz my husband. in the process of crying and thinking, i recall that his grand mom never support our marriage, she never wanted me to be married to the family. i never give up and i prayed for God to intervene. one a faithful day it was a Thursday morning when my fellow college in my working place noticed my attitude and behaviour seems different from the real me and i never wanted to disclosed my Family issues but i shared with her my feeling and what i have been going through. she told me that something similar to these happened to her Elder sister and she told me that everything will be fine. she later invite me to her house to meet her elder sister then i opened up to her and she refers me to a man called Prophet Adeyemi and i did just as she said. i called Prophet Adeyemi immediately and he respond to my call in that moment and the first thing he said was 'WOMAN WOMAN' you have to believe and have faith that your problem will be solved. i asked, what should i do? then he said to me in two days time my husband will be back and i asked, Prophet Adeyemi is this going to be real? the last thing he said was that i will testify of his work. i did just as instructed and i watch for good forty-eight {48} hours. hmmmm, it was a good night time at 10:05pm within the days that Prophet Adeyemi told me that my husband Andrea Delacruz will be back, at first i heard the bell rings getting close to my door i heard someone saying HONEY!!!, it sound familiar i opened the door and i saw my husband standing and weeping in front of me. i was not surprised because its all i have been praying for him to come back home. Guess what in six days after i noticed my system and my body temperature is changed and i went to clinic for check up and the doctor told me that there is life in me which means i am pregna i really wants to use this opportunity to thanks Prophet Adeyemi so much and my lovely collage who directed me to Prophet Adeyemi if you have any problem or predicament that is worse or exactly like this you have been into, i plead you to contact Prophet Adeyemint.
